Careers Counsellors provide individuals and groups with information about career choices and assist individuals with self-development. Tasks include working with clients on career, study and employment options, examining information about their abilities and needs, providing job-seeking information and resources, and working with clients to develop rehabilitation plans that consider vocational and social needs. The occupation generally requires a qualification comparable to an Australian Qualifications Framework Bachelor degree or higher in a highly relevant field, plus at least one year of highly relevant post-qualification employment completed in the last five years.
