The assistant teacher helps set up and clean the classroom, assists the lead teacher during classroom hours, lunch, and nap, prepares weekly storytime, singing, or other language work, prepares and restocks teaching materials, takes ownership of the classroom, and communicates openly with the Director, Lead Teacher, and staff. Requirements include effective communication in Mandarin and English, excellent verbal communication, ability to multitask, enjoyment of working with children, commitment to the role, and interest in teacher growth and development. Experience with the bopomofo or Taiwanese alphabet system is a plus.
