The Paul Robeson Galleries seeks a New Jersey visual artist for a six-month residency at Express Newark in the Hahne Building. The residency includes studio space, a $1,300 stipend, and an exhibition at the end of the residency. The artist is expected to participate in the life of Express Newark by hosting at least one open studio, participating in one student-work critique and at least one public program, attending at least two additional public programs or exhibition receptions, maintaining a studio presence for at least 50 hours per month, and participating in approximately five hours of studio visits with groups organized through the PRG education program. Applicants must submit a current artist CV, an artist statement of up to 250 words, a residency-goal statement of up to 250 words, up to eight work samples, and an image list with artwork details. The residency runs from March 2, 2020 to September 2, 2020.
