Anatomical Pathologists examine organs, tissues and cells to diagnose diseases including cancer, providing services fundamental to medical diagnosis, patient management and research. NSW Health Pathology employs over 160 Anatomical Pathologists across NSW, with Staff Specialists working in public hospital laboratories and providing diagnostic, consultative and on-call specialty services. The role includes providing second opinions, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, teaching trainees and medical students, and opportunities for university affiliations, research and specialised practice. Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA and have Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical Pathology, and/or other specialist recognition under the Staff Specialists State Award. The position is classified as Staff Specialist and offers 40 hours per week.
