Manage, evaluate and assess information necessary to construct projects on time, within budget and to the quality specified by contract documents. Duties include site investigations, quantity and material takeoffs, checking estimates, preparing tendering schedules, budgeting and costing, contacting and evaluating sub-trades and suppliers, participating in tender closings, compiling tenders, maintaining supplier relationships, and maintaining pricing, productivity and career progression records. Requires post-secondary Construction Engineering Technology or a BSc in Quantity Surveying, 5 to 10 years of commercial, institutional or industrial estimating experience, knowledge of structural concrete and steel systems, experience estimating projects valued at 5 million to 50 million, conceptual estimating ability, onscreen takeoff software experience, advanced subcontractor scope and costing knowledge, scheduling software knowledge, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Earthwork takeoff program experience is an asset.
