Nicolay Consulting Group is seeking an experienced actuarial analyst to support the maintenance of pension and postretirement benefit plans and grow toward becoming a trusted client consultant. This hybrid role can be based from home or the San Francisco office. Responsibilities include managing client tasks, pursuing actuarial credentials, assisting with annual valuations, reconciling plan assets, validating census data, preparing participant statements, reviewing assumptions, maintaining ProVal and PensionSoft, drafting valuation reports and meeting presentations, preparing ASC 715 and GASB 67/68 and 74/75 reports, preparing projections, supporting non-routine actuarial projects and pension administration, participating in client meetings, and staying current with relevant laws, standards, and trends. Requirements include a bachelor's degree, 3 or more years of applicable experience, completion of 2 or more SOA exams, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, strong analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills, accuracy with pension and OPEB tasks, effective prioritization across projects, and a collaborative approach. Preferred qualifications include being located in San Francisco or California, experience with PensionSoft, ProVal, and Microsoft Access, familiarity with church pension plans, and familiarity with GASB 67/68 and 74/75.
