The English Speaking Union-Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition is open to all universities or higher education colleges involved in teaching law in the United Kingdom. Each team consists of two students. Rounds are conducted over the winter and spring, culminating in the semi-finals at Dartmouth House, Mayfair, and the Grand Final in the Royal Courts of Justice. The winning team receives the Silver Mace trophy, £1,000 for each competitor and £1,000 for their educational establishment. Runners-up receive £750 for each competitor and £750 for their educational establishment. All four finalists are offered mini-pupillages at Essex Court Chambers.
