This course surveys Ukrainian history from the nineteenth century to the present, covering imperial rule, the 1917 to 1921 revolution, Soviet policies and the Holodomor, World War II, independence, the Orange Revolution, Euromaidan, and the ongoing Russo-Ukraine War. No prior knowledge of Eastern European history is required.
