A 2.5-hour introductory workshop exploring the Japanese art of Kintsugi, including its history, philosophy, traditional materials, urushi lacquer, hands-on ceramic repair, and metallic powder finishing. Participants will complete a prepared ceramic chopstick rest to take home with care instructions. All materials, protective gloves, and materials are provided. No prior experience is necessary. The workshop is for those interested in traditional ceramic restoration, wabi-sabi, sustainable materials, and slow craft practices. Capacity is 7 participants per session. Traditional urushi lacquer may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
