A full-time, in-person commitment serving as a Los Angeles County Civil Grand Juror for 12 months. Twenty-three citizens are sworn each July and work Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 at the Civic Center of Downtown Los Angeles. The Civil Grand Jury investigates county, city, and joint-power agencies, examines citizen complaints, audits operations and records, inspects public prisons, and develops recommendations. Members receive $80.00 per diem and mileage reimbursement at the County's current rate.
